Internship – Bioinformatic and process automation 4 – 6 months

Cellenion is French based biotech company, specialized in automated single-cell isolation and liquid handling, developing breakthrough technology in the field of single cell Omics. In 2020, Cellenion joined BICO, a corporate structure focusing on the intersection of technology and biology, pioneering the bio convergence revolution, and paving the way for the future of health.

We are a company developing cutting-edge products for the life science industry and we offer a unique work environment with interdisciplinary and international team of highly skilled, and energetic people. As part of our continuous growth and talent identification, we are opening in our “Application development team” an internship position to run bioinformatics analysis, develop process automation in data transfer and management, and build solutions for application monitoring.

Mission:

Cellenion launched recently the cellenPIPE, a Web Application proposed as a SaaS solution for transcriptomic analyses https://www.cellenion.com/cellenpipe. Cellenion also runs specific analysis in house to support its development.

The internship will have two different axes:

-Bioinformatics: the intern will have to perform daily analysis of data using existing tools, with the support of biologists. This involves 1) collecting all information (technical and biological) to run the proper bioinformatics pipeline 2) running analysis 3) collecting results and reporting to project leader.

-Automation: the intern will have to automatize all the processes from getting the FASTQ files on the Illumina sequencer to saving the downstream outputs to the proper safe location, the main step being the launch of the bioinformatics pipeline. This will involve 1) data management (data deletion, data back-ups, database update…), 2) application monitoring (log, error, access files, CPU allocation…), 3) installation of the requirements, tools and packages required for any subsequent deployment of the application.

The chosen intern will be fully integrated in an Agile team following an adapted Scrum workflow and will use collaborative tools such as Git to report and share his work with the team.
